Stellar New Home Entertainment Tech
Every September, A/V professionals like us get the chance to totally geek out over all the new tech unveiled at the CEDIA Expo. This year’s expo did not disappoint.
The custom installation technology at this year’s event represents the best of the best—the most sophisticated entertainment products available for our clients and their luxury smart homes.
We know our clients well, and private entertainment systems top their home value lists. That’s why we’re so excited to share just two of the new products that really captured our imaginations. (There’s a lot more where this came from!)
For our clients looking for the ultimate sound with a premier 4K projector, Samsung offers its new The Premiere 9 ultra short throw projector. A massive 130-inch picture comes from this super-compact projector. The picture quality is outstanding: bright, with rich colors, what one reviewer says you’d expect from a triple RGB laser 4K projector with a specified 3,450 ISO lumens brightness. We’re talking a spectrum of more than a billion colors and the contrast of HDR10+. If you’re watching a lower-resolution image, AI can optimize each scene for sharper detail and better clarity. Its sleek design looks good in all kinds of interior spaces, and the Tizen smart TV platform makes it easy for anyone to stream content. You can stream games right from the projector, with no additional console required. And right now, The Premiere 9 comes with a complementary The Freestyle 2nd Gen with Gaming Hub. At the expo, Samsung matched the new projector with new Stage2 series Dolby Atmos speakers and MA series AV receiver. The result was spectacular.
How about our favorite video player and server? Kaleidescape is atop everyone’s “best of” list, heads above any other streaming service. Now, it has launched its new Strato V Movie Player, which can function as a standalone system or become part of a larger Kalediescape system. As an entry-level system, it can house up to 10 4K movies downloaded from the Kaleidescape Movie Store. These movies are high bitrate (up to 100 Mbps) and play back with pristine, uninterrupted flow. The movies are shown in standard dynamic range, HDR10, and Dolby Vision with upscaling of HD and SD content to 4K resolution. Lossless spatial audio means crisp sound clarity and totally immersive sound effects. And the Strato V Movie Player is scalable, so a server can be added for more movies and whole-home systems.
