New Season, Cool New Tech
This time of year – maybe it’s all this summer energy and light – a lot of us start itching to try some new tech in our homes. Good thing some of our favorite companies – Samsung, LG, and Sonos – have some terrific new developments for our clients.
LG has introduced the first ever TVs to support Apple Music in Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos. LG Smart TV users can now access Apple Music by voice command in the LG Content Store, Apps or through the Music Quick Card on the Home Screen.
As many of our clients know, Spatial Audio will completely transform how you listen to music. For anyone new to the concept, this is a great way to experience the new clarity and depth of the multi-dimensional sound.
And as a cool bonus, LG is offering LG Smart TV users three months of free Apple Music. The free trial is found through the Apple Music app of TVs compatible LG Smart TVs (2018 models and later) running webOS 4.0 or higher, plus lifestyle screen models StanbyME, StanbyME Go and MyView Smart Monitor.
We’re so excited that Samsung has released its new line up of TVs. The company has yet again incorporated new tech developments to make already-outstanding TVs that much better. Critics are already saying its flagship QD-OLED S95D is the best OLED of the year. One of its amazing features is the new glare-free screen that works effectively and consistently across both dark and bright rooms. This new technology reduces reflections while keeping the contrast and color accuracy, even when the viewer is sitting far off to the side. The S95D has also had its colors validated by experts at Pantone. The S95D supports OLED HDR Pro, with more powerful brightness and richer contrast. Its sound system supports Dolby Atmos and includes a 70-watt, 4.2.2-channel sound system. And its One Connect Box simplifies the annoying mess of cables. And this is just one of the new TVs we can’t wait to show our clients.
Everyone with smart home tech knows: a good, intuitive app makes all the difference in the user’s experience. A good app means ease and comfort, tech that actually improves your quality of life. A bad app – well, you’re looking at technology that just makes daily home life harder.
The world-renowned audio company Sonos knows this, too, and last month they revealed their new “Re-imagined” app, which brings services, content, and system controls into one home screen, customizable to the client’s needs. It’s the company’s most extensive app redesign ever, making it possible for clients to organize playlists, stations, albums, and more from over 100 services on a single customizable home screen. The new app is also on a modern platform for an easier, faster, and better experience that supports ongoing tech developments. Sonos is the only audio company to offer an app with an open platform, which unites the many streaming services and offers more choice and simplified organization and access for its clients.
