Your Home: The New Art Gallery
As we look over our year as technology home experts, one of our biggest surprises is the number of clients who are installing digital art displays in their homes. We’ve gotten a surprising number of requests for big walls of video art. It makes sense: our clients value their home’s visual and design aesthetics. They also want versatility. Our clients are interested in art they can display and change out quickly, easily, with the perfect frame to house a nice piece of art. We’ve got the high-end technology to make it happen.
For anyone who follows the art scene, digital art is exploding – both in what’s being made and the technology to support it.
With all the ups and downs of Bitcoin and NFTs, it was a little uncertain whether digital art could survive the storm. NFTs are “non-fungible tokens,” which verify that something is unique and cannot be copied or replaced. (Unlike physical money that can be traded or exchanged.) When it comes to digital art, NFTs play a critical role. In a recent Art News article about the digital art scene at Miami Art Week, digital artists and institutions are now seeing a major new trend after the 2021 NFT peak, away from large numbers of NFT collections on the market, towards offering pieces that are “more considered” and even have a physical component.
We see that in our clients’ home collections, too. They’re often looking to display curated collections of digital art with technology options. A Samsung The Frame TV makes it possible to display a digital piece that you own. But there’s more - you can change the image to display another piece instantly, or photos, or – because it’s a Samsung television – watch a movie or show.
The Frame TV uses Art Mode to display art. The owner can purchase the unique art from the artist. Or they can subscribe to or purchase art from the Samsung Art Store. These professionally curated and highly organized collections are amazing resources for inspiration for every home owner. Personal photos and other images can be uploaded. The Frame’s matte display means top-shelf screen visibility without reflecting light, no matter the time of day or night. Samsung’s anti-reflection technology and matte finish reduce the glare and keep light distraction to a minimum. The Frame also uses quantum dot technology with over a billion shades of color.
The Frame is to the art aficionado what immersive audio is to the sound connoisseur.
And speaking of sound…
Because the Frame is a TV, and because it’s Samsung, the sound is top rate, too. It offers 3D surround sound to support a cinematic experience. When placed with object tracking sound, the result is 3D audio that actually moves along with the action on screen.
