According to a recent impact report from the National Association of Realtors, landscape elements like smart lighting are one of the “most desirable” outdoor additions for homeowners.

The 2023 “Remodeling Impact Report: Outdoor Features” looks at why homeowners complete outdoor remodeling projects, and the value and homeowners’ happiness with the results. The study looked at eleven outdoor features – from landscape lighting to outdoor kitchens to simple lawn care.

Homeowners rated all 11 outdoor projects highly, with “joy” scores at 9 or above. The highest joy scores came from landscape lighting (10), an in-ground pool addition (10), and a new patio (9.9). An outdoor kitchen was ranked at 9.

The fact that landscape lighting brings the most joy is no surprise to us.
