An immersive music experience – at home
It’s truly one of our favorite parts of the work we do: When a client experiences immersive music in their home for the first time. Nothing can compare to the glee on their face.
Once you’ve tried it, you’ll never want to go back.
What exactly is an “immersive music experience?” Simply put, it’s using technology to replay a three-dimensional sound with all the depth and complexity as when it was first recorded. It’s the polar opposite of the thin, superficial sound that would come from an AM radio in your mom’s 1980 station wagon.
The technology for an immersive music experience is possible in your home.
Just saying that takes our breath away. Really, that’s why we got into this business. It brings together three of our greatest passions: audio, technology, and serving our clients.
Which is one reason we were so inspired by a recent article by William Erb, “connoisseur of rich listening experiences,” on why private home theater owners, designers, and artists need to keep pursuing the opportunities of an immersive music experience.
Erb eloquently describes how an immersive music experience means that musicians and producers can deliver the sound quality they intend to people right in their own homes. Companies like the Norwegian label 2L and IAN produce albums intended to be immersive experiences. More companies are coming onboard. Listening on anything less is selling the artists – and ourselves – short of an extraordinary experience.
Erb describes how immersive recordings have place him in the middle of a performance space so that he feels “literally bathed in the sound of musical instruments.” Exactly.
For home audio and theaters, Paradise Theater is one of our favorite companies to work with to create the ideal immersive home theater experience. The image and sound quality are unmatched. We work with their team of acoustic and electronic engineers, cad designers, architectural and interior designers to design and build a completely unique, high-end luxury theater for our clients’ homes.
And the technology keeps evolving. We keep a careful ear attuned to developments, so that we can continue to offer our clients’ the most up to date systems in their homes.
