Snap One expands tech offerings to clients
Earlier this month, integrated technology company Snap One announced some tech exciting developments on both its main platform and audio/video fronts. We’re excited because it means we can expand our A/V offerings to our clients in both residential and business settings.
Snap One – a smart technology company that offers more than integrated 50 brands in the A/V, security, and remote management fields – has expanded its OvrC platform, the remote monitoring platform solution that allows us as integrators to streamline our support and efficiency of services. Snap One is adding OvrC Pro options to the Control4 OS3 operating system without the need for extra hardware. The new updates will make the tech ecosystem better, faster, and more reliable, giving us as integrators increased notification accuracy and improving wireless site management.
“As projects become increasingly complex and customer expectations evolve, remote monitoring and management is now more important than ever,” said Evan Marty, director of product management at Snap One, in the official announcement.
We are big fans of remote monitoring, because it means we can manage and troubleshoot for our clients with the least amount of intrusion in their homes. Often, we can detect and solve issues without having to disturb their home lives at all – one of the best benefits of an integrated smart home platform, in our view.
Besides the remote management improvements, Snap One also introduced the new operating system version 3.3.0. This update includes some cool new options, like a native lighting color wheel to enhance the tuning ability of lighting. We can now create color presets for our customers, personalizing lighting colors unique to your programmed lighting scenes. Clients with the Control4 app can directly alter lighting colors in their homes.
“Subtle changes in the color of lighting in your home can change the mood and even add to your well-being,” said Margie Meyers, principal product manager at Snap One, in the announcement. “Imagine changing your ceiling into a night sky to prepare you for bed or waking up to a sunrise. Energize your workspace with light matching noon-day sun. With the addition of color control and tunable white, all this is possible in Control4. Our beta partners have been delighted by the versatility we’ve provided in the programming of color control. Our Partners have been asking for this feature and we spent months getting it just right.”
On the A/V front, Snap One has launched new Control4 CORE series controllers, along with new speakers from Episode and Triad. Since A/V is our passion, we are thrilled to be able to offer our clients the new Episode 2.1 active soundbar and wireless subwoofer. The wireless subwoofer has a range of 30 feet, which means we can place it in optimal locations that won’t intrude on your interior space. Snap One now also offers the Triad PDX Architectural Speaker line, which includes eight in-ceiling models and three in-wall speakers, has an improved installation process and even allows us to change the motor without completely removing the speakers from their mounted locations.
And there’s more to come throughout 2022, with more new products, solutions, and updates in the coming year, said Ryan Marsh, Snap One’s executive vice president of sales, in the official roll-out.
